The 6th Annual Fisher Family Foundation Soiree & Invitational was an astonishing success, raising $390,000 for the Marsha Rivkin Center! The Soiree and Dinner Auction kicked off on Thursday, August 16th at the Westin Bellevue. Over 370 guests attended this special evening and enjoyed great program, sit down dinner, and silent and live auctions.

The evening began with special recognition of three courageous ovarian cancer survivors: Susan Dearborn, Merrilly Laytner and Jeanie Shields. The event continued with popular auctioneers Dick Friel and John Curley leading the biding for amazing items, including a Havanese puppy, a rare bottle of Sloan Estate vintage wine and exclusive tickets to the 2008 American Idol finale show and the official Fox after party.

During the Fund-A-Need portion of the evening, it was shared that Chuck and Karen Lytle and the Fisher Family each provided a $25,000 matching gift for the Pilot Study Awards. This generous match inspired three families to each donate $10,000: Eric and Gloria Bensussen, Jay and Inger Deutsch and John and Ginny Meisenbach.

On Sunday, August 19th, the festivities continued with the Golf Invitational at the beautiful Newcastle Golf Club. The participants enjoyed a round of golf and were treated to fresh bagels compliments of Blazing Bagels, as well as hot Starbucks coffee and Jones soda. Barrier Motors provided a Mercedes C Class sedan for a hole in one contest. After the tournament, golfers and friends were treated to a delicious lunch generously donated by Bonefish Grill.

This event was created in honor and memory of Babs Fisher who lost her battle to ovarian cancer in 2004. Dr. Saul Rivkin and the Marsha Rivkin Center are grateful for the Fisher Family and friend's dedication and generosity!
