Importance of Research

The Marsha Rivkin center has two programs for funding research: the Pilot Study Program and the Scientific Scholar Award. The Pilot Study Program funds promising discovery work in ovarian cancer. The results from these studies in turn lay the groundwork for major research initiatives. Data gathered from these studies often allows scientists to further pursue research ideas through highly competitive national government grants necessary to complete these projects.

The Scientific Scholar Award is presented to promising young scientists and doctors pursuing a career in ovarian cancer research. This funding ensures the best and brightest minds have an opportunity to pursue and develop a career in ovarian cancer research. This award provides a senior scientist to guide the scholar in order to focus on the difficulties faced in ovarian cancer research.

Overview of Funding & Funding Cycle

The Marsha Rivkin Center announces requests for applications for its Pilot Study and Scientific Scholar Award programs each year around September 1.
