Babs Fisher And The Fisher Family

Babs Fisher

When Babs Fisher was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer in October of 2000, her family and friends rallied around her. Together they focused their energy on raising money and awareness for ovarian cancer and in 2002 started the Fisher Family Golf Invitational to benefit the Marsha Rivkin Center.

Babs’ smile instantly lit up a room and her loving spirit touched so many within our community. When she lost her courageous fight in 2004, Bab’s family knew that they needed to do more to find a cure for ovarian cancer. They did not want other families to go through the pain and suffering that they had experienced. With an outpouring of participation and generosity from the community, the Fisher Family started in 2005 a special gala auction, in addition to the golf invitational. This event now known as the Fisher Family & Friends Auction and Golf Invitational has become the cornerstone fundraiser for the Marsha Rivkin Center.

In grateful recognition of the Fisher Family’s long-standing commitment, the Marsha Rivkin Center established the Babs & Eddie Fisher Family Endowment. This $1 million endowment continues the caring legacy of Babs Fisher and is a fitting tribute to Eric, Rod, Craig, and Eddie Fisher and all of their friends, family and community supporters who have so profoundly impacted the work of the Marsha Rivkin Center.
